This
is a 1942 New York Yankees Scorecard. More than just a
Baseball program, the scorecards from this era are a
piece of American history. Buy United States War
bonds printed on every page, Reminding people to save
cooking fats for the war effort, ( I believe to make
nitro) there is even an Air Raid evacuation plan (see
photo below). The advertisings are outstanding, and
unlike today, loaded with cigarette and cigar ads. A
great collectible, usual problems with these books are
dry brittle paper, foxing (browning) and the binding
splitting apart, so handle with care. But you must have
one from this era.
