Rawlings Roberto Clemente Brooks Robinson World Series Gold Glove
Special. This Rawlings Fastback baseball
glove was sold in stores shortly after The 1971 World Series
which featured The Gold Glover Roberto Clemente, and the Pittsburgh Pirates beating fellow
Gold Glove winner Brooks Robinson, and the Baltimore Orioles four games to three. Unfortunately the celebration in Pittsburgh would soon turn to mourning as a short fourteen months later
Roberto Clemente was killed in a plane crash. Gold
Glove Specials are still a popular yearly issue by
Rawlings today.

Glove issued in 1971 came in two models, as pictured
below in a magazine
ad. The red white, and blue Glove
below reads World Series Special on the pinky
finger as opposed to Gold Glove award as the
glove above reads. The advertisement below also notes
that Brooks Robinson won the MVP award in the
1970 World Series, and Roberto Clemente in the
1971 WS. Between them they won 23 Gold Glove awards.
The Glove with the picture box could double in value or
more.
