The
2000 World Series played from October
21st to October 26th, featured; the
two-time defending World Series
champions and American League Pennant
winner New York Yankees, beating the
National League Pennant winner New York
Mets four games to one in the best of
seven series. For New York it was the
first "Subway Series" since 1956, when
the Yankees beat the Brooklyn Dodgers
44 years earlier.
In
game 2, played at Yankee Stadium, the New York Yankees established a record
of ten consecutive games won in
consecutive World Series from
1998-2000. The Yankees had also
won fourteen straight World Series
games (starting with Game 3 of the 1996
World Series) breaking the mark of
twelve straight set by the Yankees in
1927, 1928 and 1932.
Games 1 and 2 were played at Yankee Stadium. Games 2,4, and 5, were played
at Shea Stadium. Yankee Stadium tickets
for games 6, and 7 are Phantoms
(Tickets that are printed but the games
were never played) and should be full
