NOTES:

This is a 1960s Mickey Mantle Yankee Stadium give away photo. This photo was a Stock photo given away at Yankee Stadium during the 1960s. The Photo was given out on both Mickey Mantle days, in 1965, and on his retirement day, June 8th 1969. They were also given out during rain delays, and even on a day Like Bat day, or Cap day. If they ran out of Items they gave this photo out so the fan would not walk away empty handed. There was a game in 1963 when Kids were allowed to go onto the field two hours before the game, via the outfield bull pen, and were handed this photo of Mickey Mantle. The Yankees kept the photo in stock and gave them out whenever they wanted to promote good relations with their fans. The baseball Bat that Mickey Mantle is holding was made in 1963 or earlier. Under the Louisville Slugger Label it reads REG US PAT OFF. Bats made between 1964 through 1979 did not have this. See Photo below.

Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris New York Yankees -M&M Boys- Framed Lithograph

"It’s a beautiful day in the Bronx as a huge crowd takes in the June 30, 1960 matinee, between the Bronx Bombers and the Kansas City A's. The Bombers would live up their name this day as they would belt five round trippers while cruising to a 10-3 victory. Watching the action intently from the on-deck circle, in his first season in New York is Roger Maris. One inning earlier, he belted his 25th dinger of the season. Now it was the Mick’s turn to go deep, as he rockets this pitch from Bob Trowbridge into the right field seats. It was the Commerce Comet's 18th round tripper. Mantle and Maris would stage an epic home run derby during the 1960 season, with the Mick’s league leading 40 homers edging Maris by one. Item Measures 22.25'' x 16.5'' "
