Vintage Baseball Memorabilia Yankees Picture Pack Day

This is a 1966 New York Yankee Picture Pack Day Mickey Mantle Photo. The 12 photos with facsimile Autographs were given away at Yankee Stadium on August 28 1966 to boys, and girls 14 years of age, and under. The set includes Mickey Mantle, Whitey Ford, Roger Maris, Tom Tresh, Bobby Richardson, Elston Howard, Mel Stottlemyre, Joe Pepitone, Jim Bouton, Al Downing, Clete Boyer, and Mgr. Ralph Houk. The set also came with a Yankee Decal transfer. The photo bottom left shows the promotion that appeared in the 1966 Yankee Scorecard (right). The Pictures were printed on paper stock, not photo quality paper. The Article also states "Another Yankee First". It is possible that the Yankees were the first team to have this type of Stadium promotion.

"It’s a beautiful day in the Bronx as a huge crowd takes in the June 30, 1960 matinee, between the Bronx Bombers and the Kansas City A's. The Bombers would live up their name this day as they would belt five round trippers while cruising to a 10-3 victory. Watching the action intently from the on-deck circle, in his first season in New York is Roger Maris. One inning earlier, he belted his 25th dinger of the season. Now it was the Mick’s turn to go deep, as he rockets this pitch from Bob Trowbridge into the right field seats. It was the Commerce Comet's 18th round tripper. Mantle and Maris would stage an epic home run derby during the 1960 season, with the Mick’s league leading 40 homers edging Maris by one. Item Measures 22.25'' x 16.5'' "
