Yankee
Stadium Reserve Seats, from the 1973 renovation. I believe
these seats were originally installed in Yankee stadium
in the 50's. They are the reserve seating, and have no legs.
They were bolted to the concrete in the upper deck
Reserve area's. The stand you see in the photo was added to
display the seats, they can not stand on it's own. One
way of telling authenticity is from the color of the
primer under the paint. kind of a turquoise color (see
picture below).
Box seats that were installed back in 1923 are the most desirable,
and can bring a price tag of $3,000. These seats as
a pair start at $1,500 and as high as $3,500. They were
sold for the price of $7.00 (that's right seven dollars)
in 1973, at stores like E.J. Korvettes, and even Winston
cigarettes had a mail away offer for the same
price.
