This
is a 1980 Mickey Mantle Exhibit Card. It is a re-release
of the 1950s exhibit card, made by Exhibit Supply
Company, the company that made these vending cards. The
Vending cards could be purchased from vending machines
for as little as one cents, back in the 50s. Exhibit
Supply Company also made, Movie Stars, Sports stars,
Music Stars, and Cowboy Exhibit Cards. The back is
blank, and bottom of this card Reads in white: "An
Exhibit Card 1980 Hall of Fame" The Ealier Mickey
Mantle Exhibit card from the 50s does not have this. The
earlier Exhibit cards are in the $50 -$100 Price range.
The 1980 Hall of Fame set consisted of 32 cards limited
to 10,000 made. There were two different sets made which
were re-issues of the original cards made, for a total of
64 cards. Below is also an example of the original 1950s
Exhibit card.
